New Orleans Nationals – Report from the sidelines

Claudia reports on her New Orleans experience:

Meckstroth and Sally didn’t make it to my party, nor did they call to decline. Bummer…However, they had “pro” matches going constantly, and he may have been at a game. However, I started to feel badly for her because it must get kinda lonely for her following him around, and being the bridge genius he happens to be, he hardly seems like a lot of laughs.

Anyhoo, the only pro that came was Barbara Seagram – currently with a # 1 bestseller on “Play of the Hand” – who is a lots of laughs as is her agent/hubby Alex.

10 people arrived – I issued 16 invites – and those who didn’t make it included Will Williams and Jack Buchanan from Richmond and Tracey and Maureen Brines.

I served Kir Royals – champagne and creme de cassis – and cavier with all the fixing’s. Those who came loved my offering. Had the room decorated like a Bordello, and I played the role of the Madame with a red wig!

Lastly, the beautiful, young, Chinese woman (another genius with over 5000 points after only 2 years in the states!) from the Vero Beach Club attended, and, although she barely speaks English, she seemed thrilled to be invited.

Pete just came in my kitchen with Chinese food for tonight, so gonna sign off.

Stay in touch all!!
